The question of the family of Barack Obama is finally solved: link (finnish) He's the great-great-great-grandson of a finnish missionary Nestori Opamaa from Savitaipale. Opamaas on the other hand are found in the family history book, their grand estates are only ~60 miles from ours so there may well be a relation here too.
